Ashley Kaltwasser – Take it from me…I know that sometimes we can get too wrapped up in the competing/fit lifestyle (it’s addictive!) and often times we find ourselves going a bit overboard with training and diet. Yes, it’s great to have motivation, focus & develop healthy habits. But whatever you do, don’t forget to LIVE! There’s a whole world of excitement out there. Don’t miss out on life… you only have one! It’s all about finding balance. If you know you are going to have an important family event (with lots of yummy food) then plan for it in advance. Make that day your cheat day. Don’t be afraid to reward yourself. I also recommend you allow your body to rest properly. EveryBODY deserves a break every once in a while, just relax! It’s mentally refreshing for your mind as well. Don’t be so hard on yourself, K? At the end of the day your mental well being should be just as healthy and “fit” as your body @teamviponline

4×10 deep squats
4×10 prone hamstring curl
3×10 each leg pistol squat
3×10 straight leg dead lift
3×10 sumo squats with dumbbell
3×15 each leg resistance band kickbacks
3×10 plyo box jumps
3×10 one leg dead lifts with dumbbell
3×10 glute kick ups on hamstring curl machine *weight will vary from person to person. Choose a weight that’s challenging but be sure you are still able to maintain proper form.

I am not perfect. There are days where I cheat on my diet, snack, go out for cocktails, you get the idea. There are also days when I drive to the gym only to find that I do not have the motivation to work out. So I just leave. There are days where I sleep in and miss my workout. There are days where I am traveling and cannot access the gym. Who else can relate to that? My point is…We are all human here, not robots. Don’t be so hard on yourself if you are having an off day. Tomorrow is a new day and a fresh start. Stressing out about these things is only going to make the situation worse. If you’ve been pretty consistent, one day won’t make or break you. Look at the bigger picture #RealTalk

Ashley Kaltwasser – Time for some real talk there are so many different diets out there. Too many to even begin to name! Everyone has a different reason or theory on why they work. Coming from my own personal experience, I know it can be very confusing. Listen, everyone is different. Everyone has different genetics and lifestyle. It may take a few tries to nail down a diet that aligns with your way of living. I’ll give you an example- the ever popular #IIFYM … Do I think it could work? Yes, absolutely. Would it work for me? No. Why? Because I hate numbers, I hate counting, and I’m extremely disorganized. Instead, I am more of an intuitive eater in the offseason. I eat when I’m hungry, not when I’m told to. I don’t count calories, I don’t weigh my food and I don’t hit a specific number of Marcos. I eat reasonably and listen to my body. When I start prep for a show, I’ll become more consistent. I’ve found for me personally, I tend to cut fat more easily on a lower carb diet. The lack of carbs do not seem to effect my training or mood. In fact, when I got my genetics tested via @fitnessgenes, it assured me that a lower carb diet was the way to go. This method is not for everyone however, and you may find yourself feeling sluggish and lethargic. In summary, don’t be persuaded by a diet that everyone is telling you to follow. Get to know your body. Coordinate a good diet plan based on your genetics and lifestyle.
