Martyn Ford – Session done! Now time to EAT! Training with @alysia_magen was arranged ages ago, and after the few weeks Ive had on set, traveling and business I tried every excuse under the sun to force a rest day! Hahaha however I was reminded to stop being a big girl lol so with no voice and zapped energy I tried my best lol. Tbf was a great session and she did enough talking for us both so I didn’t need to hahhahaha once the dancing stopped she remembered how to lift weights. Definitely one to watch for in future comps, great strength and ability for such a small frame. We hit back and did a mixture of forced reps and drops sets. Martyn Ford – Understanding your genetics and your body type are key in developing a plan that works. It is vital that you research this and design not only a training plan but also a nutrition plan that is bespoke to you. For instance, i know for me personally if im dieting i cant reduce carbs to low, or do to much cardio or i lose huge amounts of muscle mass and fast. I also know that buy consuming foods through the night and carbs late on the evening, while also sipping calories during training i increase strength and size greatly. This may or may not work for you, its all very much according to the individual. So be aware of this before you go disappointing yourself. Everyone can create a special physique, its just knowing your limits, boundaries and being realistic to what you are working with #fitness #gains #size #mass

Martyn Ford – So tomorrow is legs day. What to do? I’m planning on pumping the quads to the death. Leg extensions, leg press, front squats, alternate lunges and squats to finish. Yup that should finish them off. Whats the worst leg exercise for you? Mine is leg extensions for reps, that machine gives me nightmares! Will be hitting a range of 8-12 on working sets and 15-20 to pump and warm up. I’m mentally preparing now for what promises to be hell! @5percentnutrition #5percentnutrition #mass #size #monster

Martyn Ford – My last FAT picture for a while lol. Time to focus on next stage of training. Reps will be increased, volume about to be cranked up. Have brought my carbs down to 600g per day also. I don’t want to lose any strength or muscle but i need to switch up my plan as its that time. Happy with my gains at present, but never satisfied enough to stop driving forwards. Martyn Ford – Mass Vs Aesthetics is a constant battle in my head. I want to be huge and at the same time hold descent shape. Body types and genetics can be so frustrating at times. What you want and what you can achieve are often different, so learn to work with what you have and make the most of that. Building a physique can be so frustrating when your goals are so far apart from your reality. Here i was leanish at 24.4st. Holding that Weight and lean is a nightmare! Miss a few meals and i drop 5-6 lb easy. I have to learn to be constantly eating and training hard and heavy to keep mass like this #gains #muscle #mass

Martyn Ford – No ego here! That 20kg plate you can see behind me, well i managed to get just 14 reps!!!!! Lol and my max press was a MASSIVE 100kg!! For 6 reps! Hahaha. Thanks to @dtitterton43 for his fountain of knowledge. So many people say its not the weight that makes you grow. Well, I’m going to be working closely with Dave and put this statement to the test. With personalised plans, close mentoring and following the program to a tee we want to produce the best and biggest me we possible can. I am going to be tracking everything from nutrition, supplements, training even rest and recovery. We have something special coming out soon so keep locked on for upcoming news on this. TRY this for a little taster. Next time you hit the weights, use a 4:1 ratio with speed. So effort part of the movement 4 seconds and negative 1 second. Martyn Ford – Well a lot can happen in ten years lol. On the left a picture of me playing for My county at cricket, I would of been around 18 in this photo, as you can see a real mass monster lol and to all those American fans, cricket is played with a bat and ball, which involves lots of walking around and looking lost for most of the day lol picture on the right was taken during the filming of undisputed 4, last year. However the determination and desire to win and achieve can be seen in both photos, that is something you have or don’t. No supplement, training plan or coach can give you this, it’s called ‘HEART’ I’ve never been gifted at anything, but I give everything 110% and will continue with this approach for ever more #Martynford #goals

Martyn Ford – Well that was one hell of a session this morning. Blasted nearly 2 hours of chest with 2 of my best trainers at the gym and now I’m struggling to move haha. I believe this picture pretty much sums up my present state lol.

For all the compound movements we hit 5×5 sets x reps. With 3 plus minutes rest between each exercise. The last few reps were assisted and real focus on the negatives. On 2 exercises we also did drop sets. I made sure i took on plenty of intra calories in the form of liquid carbohydrates and sipped on bcaa drink through out. Feeling very satisfied and completely shattered now. Feel free to share the post and add to it your own versions of this style of training. Now food time!
