Nike have announced the latest update to Free technology at their 2016 Innovation event with the Nike Free RN Motion Flyknit. 12 years after the Free concept was introduced, the Free RN Motion is taking the original concept even further drawing on new studies that reveal how the foot expands and contracts upon impact with the ground. Nike have developed a splayed midsole which spreads across two planes and mimics how the body and foot react to force with changes in length and width.
Designers incorporate dual-injection technology to form the new sole with heat to fuse two foams into one piece. The Free RN Motion provides increased mobility in the geometric tri-star pattern in addition to pliable Flyknit fabric which is promised to produce Nike’s most natural ride yet. Stay tuned for further updates on the Free Run Motion as pricing and availability is announced.
