2016’s Nike MetCon 2 release is the footwear giants response to last years MetCon 1 ban from the Reebok sponsored CrossFit Games. Named after the metabolic conditioning aspect of the sport, the original MetCon 1 infringed on Reebok’s exclusive partnership with CrossFit. In response, Nike’s first issue of the MetCon 2 features the black and red Air Jordan 1 colorway worn by Michael Jordan when violating the NBA’s on court dress code way back in the 80’s.
The MetCon 2 training shoe is constructed with a flat, stable platform using dual-density foam for stability and cushioning during intense workouts. The rubber sole provides durable traction and support when performing explosive lifts, and the zero-drag heel was designed especially for hand stand pushups. Pickup up the first pair from the Nike store for $130 and keep an eye out for new colorways as they launch, or customize your own pair now with Nike iD.
